Material Compliance and Documentation

We have implemented and maintain a database on:

EU Directive (RoHS) 2011/65/EU on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment and amendment (EU) 2015/863

EU Directive (WEEE) 2012/19/EU on the prevention of waste from electrical and electronic equipment

Our product range is generally RoHS compliant. If there is no conformity, we will inform the customer about the lack of conformity without being asked to do so. Inquiry necessary. The range shown on this page www.schrauben-preisinger.de does not yet provide any conclusive information on this!

Relevant information about our product range:

Steel: basically compliant, if necessary by making use of the exemption under Annex III 6a. I (e.g. for free-cutting steel, for cylindrical or dowel pins)

Stainless steel: compliant, as it does not contain lead due to the alloying, in any case Annex II

Non-ferrous metals: non-leaded alloys on offer, where appropriate RoHS compliant using the exemption under Annex III 6b., I/II, 6c, e.g. brass or aluminium

Plastics: compliant, usually PA 6.6

Coatings:

standard coatings: our suppliers confirm and confirm RoHS conformity as follows:

- without coating: compliant

- Blue galvanization: compliant

- zinc flake coated: compliant

- hot-dip galvanised: compliant, where appropriate, making use of the exemption under Annex III No. 6a, I.

special coatings: We commission contract work in the field of electroplating that confirms RoHS conformity.

EU Chemicals Regulation EC 1907/2006 REACH

One substance from the SVHC list is particularly relevant for our product range:

· Lead CAS No. 7439-92-1, EC No. 231-100-4

Lead can occur as an alloying element in machine elements > 0.1 percent by mass in the following strength classes / materials:

· Strength classes steel 4.6, 4.8, 5.8, 6.8, 04, 4, 5, 6, 14H, 17H, 22H, 33 H

· free-cutting steel

· Copper alloys (e.g. brass, bronze)

· Aluminum alloys

The classification of lead as reproductive toxic does not mean that there is an immediate danger from materials containing lead. The potentially toxic properties of lead have been known for years and must be taken into account depending on the use. Workplace safety measures must be observed!

We maintain a database and inform our customers unsolicited about SVHC / lead.

More importantly, we can offer lead-free brass products, lead-free pens and a wide range of safe variants.

SCIP database for SVHC

Obligation to register in the ECHA database:

  • Manufacturers and assemblers based in the EU;
  • importers based in the EU;
  • Traders and other actors in the supply chain based in the EU who place products on the market.

As a pure trading company, Schrauben-Preisinger GmbH is in contact with our suppliers regarding the obligation to pass on information in the supply chain. As a trader, Schrauben-Preisinger GmbH relies on suppliers to act in accordance with their legal obligations and to inform us in accordance with Art. 9 (1)(i) and 9 (2) of the Waste Framework Directive.

The SCIP information is noted on the delivery documents.

Further information on the SCIP database can be found at: https://echa.europa.eu/scip (no link!)

Dodd-Franklin Section 1502

Our range is free of alloying elements tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold as standard. (ISO 898-1, ISO 3506-1, ISO 4042, ISO 10683, ISO 10684). On request, we will send you a current CMRT based on the products supplied. We do not generally issue a blanket CMRT.

Cobalt and mica reporting is available on request. Cobalt is primarily found in our range of tools. We purchase the tools from selected suppliers who confirm that they do not process any conflict minerals.

If tinning or gold plating is required as a surface treatment at the customer's request, this is carried out by European or German contractors who confirm that they do not process any conflict minerals.

As far as we know, our product range does not contain any alloy components from the regions mentioned.

EU Conflict Materials Regulation (EU) 2017/821

See Dodd - Franklin Section 1502, the content is the same matter. (3TG)

TSCA Section 6(h) PBT Chemicals

We have no information that our product range may contain the following substances:

  • PIP (3:1) (phenol, isopropylated phosphate (3:1), CAS 68937-41-7)
  • DecaBDE (decabromodiphenyl ether, CAS 1163-19-5)
  • 2,4,6 TTBP (2,4,6-tris(tert-butyl)phenol, CAS 732-26-3)
  • HCBD (Hexachlorobutadiene, CAS 87-68-3)
  • PCTP (Pentachlorothiophenol, CAS 133-49-3)

Our O-rings are made of NBR 70 (also SVHC-free). Our plastic screws and washers are made of PA 6.6 (also SVHC-free).

California Proposition 65 Compliance Statement

(Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act)

Warnings are required if a product contains one of the 850 ingredients on the government list that are known to cause cancer, reproductive harm or disease.

One of the substances listed is lead, which can have a reproductive toxic effect (see REACH above). This requires appropriate handling depending on the use. We as Schrauben-Preisinger GmbH cannot further control use after the sale. We therefore recommend that our customers take note of the Proposition 65 rules and implement the current legal situation appropriately, and if necessary, adequately label assemblies or end products.

CBAM

This concerns the regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on the creation of a Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism 2021/0214 (part of the so-called "Green Deal").

The Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (= CBAM) counteracts the risk of carbon leakage to countries outside the EU with less ambitious ambitions to combat CO2 emissions. The CBAM is part of the Fit for 55 package.

The aim of pricing CO2 (in the form of certificates) is to ensure that the relocation of parts of production remains/becomes unattractive while at the same time maintaining the competitiveness of European products.

Since October 2023, there has been a reporting obligation for imports.

In Germany, customs is responsible for this; currently, the report is made in the CBAM transition register.

We at Schrauben-Preisinger GmbH keep an eye on CBAM. If we import from manufacturers outside the EU, we obtain the necessary information (calculating imported CO2 emissions) and of course register our imports. If we buy from European importers, they take care of the CBAM registration.
